Mission Statement
The goal of the Academic Bridge Program’s (ABP) Research Committee (RC) is to provide the ABP faculty with guidance, resources, and information on regional and international research opportunities through Zayed University. The ABP RC strives to encourage faculty to explore and research effective practical and theoretical approaches in teaching language learners to enhance student success at Zayed University and other regional or international tertiary institutions.
Our primary objectives are to:
- inform the ABP faculty of research opportunities available at Zayed University, in the Gulf region, and internationally.
- outline a clear timeframe for submission of research proposals.
- develop meaningful informational sessions on effective strategies for identifying and pursuing relevant research topics.
- provide ABP faculty with support on how to follow proper protocol for authoring research proposals.
- endorse and advise ABP management on applications by faculty who have identified and developed meaningful research projects.
- support ABP faculty in the development of effective research designs, data collection, data analysis and reporting of findings.
- facilitate communication of the results of finished ABP research internally and externally.
Vision Statement
The Academic Bridge Program (ABP) Research Committee (RC) is committed to promoting, guiding, reviewing and endorsing relevant research projects pursued by the ABP faculty that support the vision and mission of the ABP, Zayed University, and the UAE research initiatives by fostering of an environment of support and collaboration where ABP language professionals can effectively explore and document field-related research areas that will encourage and enhance student achievement.
